1 Question:  Can I process donations that are received via telephone and mail? 

Answer:  

Yes, in addition to real-time Internet donation processing via your web site, your organization has access to the secure Virtual Terminal. All you need to do is login to the Merchant Center, enter in your ID and PIN.  From this point you can manually enter in credit card or check information, then click the "submit" button to process the transaction.

2 Question:  What if a donor wants money deducted from their account each month? 

Answer:      

Our easy-to-use and secure Recurring Payments Manager (RPM) can assist you with automatic credit card and online check deductions on a monthly, bi-weekly or weekly basis. There is no additional cost to use the RPM system.

3 Question:  Are all transactions secure? 

Answer:      

Yes, our processor has state-of-the-art security infrastructure in place to safeguard all donor information.  All transaction processing  uses the highest level of Secure Sockets Layer encryption to ensure that information is not accessed by hackers on the Internet.  All transaction data is stored in firewall-protected systems.

4 Question: Can I integrate your donation service into my current web site? 

Answer:      

Yes. While this does require someone with knowledge in website programming (perhaps your webmaster or web hosting company), you can integrate the service seamlessly into your web site and process donations right from your web server.  Our processor provides all the documentation needed to implement the service.  Contact your Webmaster or hosting company for assistance.

5 Question:  Can I sell fundraising items with the donation service? 

Answer:      

Sure.  You can set up an unlimited number of products in our processor's online products catalog.  If you integrate the donation service within your website, you can use various processor provided-integrated programs available for free or from our vendor partners.  Thereís even an option to download and install a free shopping cart program.  If you opt to use the Merchant America hosted donation solution (where we host the store and donation page for you) there is a shopping cart already built-in.

7 Question:  I don't have the resources to integrate the service into my current Web site. Do you have any other options available? 

Answer:      

Yes, if you don't have the time or the resources to integrate the service within your current website our processor offers a hosted donation form and fundraising storefront at no additional charge.  Using the Merchant America Store builder interface, you can easily customize the pages to your liking.  

Once finished, you can link your current website to Merchant America so your visitors can make donations and/or purchases.  If you would like a hands-on tour of the Store builder interface, Contact Us and we will set-up a no cost Demo account.

8 Question:  Do I have to pay the $19.95 monthly fee if we have no donation transactions? 

Answer:      

If you do not process transactions in any one-month period, the monthly fee is not charged.  Simply stated, if you don't process, you don't pay.

10 Question:  Can we download detailed transaction information for our records? 

Answer:      

Yes.  The Merchant America hosted donation solution allows you to easily download order details and transaction information in comma-separated value (CVS) file format that can be viewed on Microsoft Excel and most any standard accounting programs that read such files.  Transaction information is downloaded through the Store builder Interface.

11 Question:  We would like to set up a Merchant America Web site for our non-profit organization, but we do not have the expertise to do so.  Do you offer these services? 

Answer:      

Merchant America Web sites are easy to build and maintain, however not everyone wishes to do so.  Although we donít provide these development services, our processor works with developers who have been certified to build the sites for our merchants at a cost that is negotiable between you and the developer.  For a list of those developers, please Contact Us.

12 Question:  Does ECHO support mobile processing for our church (non-profit) organization? 

Answer:      

Yes, we offer solutions for non-profits needing mobile processing.  If you use a laptop or PDA device with a wireless internet connection, you can use our virtual terminal processing from anywhere you can connect to the internet.  As an alternative, we also offer payment processing devices connect to cell phones.

13 Question:  What are the fees and charges for the religious organization and non-profit organization program? 

Answer:      

We our a fair structure of fees and charges for merchants and non-profit organizations.  We waive the normal set-up fee for non-profits, and charge a low monthly fee of $19.95 for each month that you have any transaction processing activity.  You can also process American Express, Discover Cards and others through our processor, however the rates for those cards are set by those organizations, not our processor.

There are no contract termination fees if you decide to leave our service, nor are there any credit card chargeback fees for the first five chargebacks each month.

14 Question:  How soon are funds available to our nonprofit religious organization after a transaction? 

Answer:      

Your funds are deposited to your merchant account within 48 hours (two business days) after the transaction takes place.  The applicable transaction fees are deducted from your payment proceeds each day.
